Hello!

Very smooth gameplay, and awesome music. I thoroughly enjoyed the feel of this game and felt that the music played into the graphics very well. Everything seemed so.. groovy.

The commentary from the NPCs were always fun and nothing I would have expected. The game has a fresh feel to it, and I feel as though the emblem system encourages me to find out more about the world and complete quests for others. One thing that I will say on this point is that there is no MAIN motivation for playing this game, in that the character does not have a reason for adventuring. Is it to become the most powerful warrior? Or the richest man with all of the treasure in the world? Or is he protecting something? Or...?

Again, really cool music. It's still playing while I'm writing this report (it's boss #1 music). I had the game freeze on me when I died on this boss. Definitely a bug there (maybe I didn't have enough money to resurrect and the code froze because of a condition? WHO KNOWS). Speaking of bugs, the only other one I found was when I had revived myself, the text at the bottom remained and did not leave meaning that I couldn't see the ground floor, which is troubling when I have to be making jumps. Good luck with that.

Overall, you are doing many things right and all the best to you in the expansion of this game or other awesome games!

Cheers!

Original creative idea.

Very nice game sir. Simple enough to focus on the game mechanics, yet challenging enough to keep the user entertained. Big thumbs up! Also being reminded that there is an end to the game, kept me playing. Upgrading my character was a bonus.

Very nice game that you have here!

Reasons for being addictive:
Opportunities to upgrade your soldiers.
Serious penalty of a full level restart due to failure.
Requires quick decisions and reflexes.
Boss fights.

Tip for the creator:
Differentiate the boss fights because boss fights are important. They are the reason that gamers feel accomplished after beating a level. It is important that we gamers have to learn a new boss before we can transcend to the next level.

I understand that programming an endless loop with increasing rates on enemy spawn and enemy fire rate is a simple and challenging solution, however adding new bosses will turn this game into a BIG BIG hit.

Thank you for sharing this game with Newgrounds!

Numerous keywords and clues were hinted at in the text as to what is present in the room. I had hoped that it was a memory game. Something else should have happened. I did not discover the true purpose of this game.

EnameledKoi responds:

Thanks for playing and giving feedback. I'm sorry you didn't find the true purpose of the game. There was a hidden option after dying enough times that led to another path, but I am still working on presenting it in such a way that it feels like a discovery but is not too obvious. Some people think it's too easy and others are not finding it at all. I hope to have another version with improvements up soon!

I am giving this game a full five star thumbs up. Let me tell you why.

The pixel artwork incorporated smooth and clearly defined animations from objects on the field and the character himself during walking, jumping, and clearing the stage.

Character emotion was portrayed within our treasure hunter. The short background gave me reason to know why I was hunting for treasure. As well, the shocked looks when bosses arrived was quite refreshing!

The difficulty level and obstacle scheme was perfectly enticing for my taste. Deaths during the game invoked the serious penalty of restarting the level. No one gets babied here. The obstacle courses were ever changing and always had new things to look out for and new platforms to reach. I was always tested to my limit.

The bonus features of the secret levels caught me off guard initially. During the lava level, I ended up riding a platform into an open space while in reality I screamed "WEEEEE" out loud in my home. Turned out instead of dying, I was brought into an secret level. This was a big plus.

I would like to congratulate the entire team on the job well done. This play through was invigorating! Please share this review with your colleagues. Thanks!
